Greg Kamansky
2010 NCAA Division 2 National Champion Cal-Poly Pomona Head Coach Greg Kamansky earned All-American honors as a player at UC San Diego and finished his career as the school's second all-time leading scorer. As an assistant coach, he held positions at UC San Diego and Fresno Pacific, and has enjoyed tremendous success at Cal-Poly Pomona. In his ten seasons as Head Coach, he has led the Broncos to six NCAA Tournament berths, three Elite Eight appearances (one of only two schools to have done so in the last seven years), three West Region titles, two CCAA league titles, coached two All-Americans, been honored Coach of the year multiple times, and led his team to a National Championship Runner-up position before winning the National Championship the following season. Kamansky earned an MBA from San Diego State in 1993.
George Selleck
As a player, George Selleck earned honors as CIF high school basketball player of the year at Compton High School, after which he went on to earn All-American honors at Stanford University and was subsequently inducted into the Stanford University Hall of Fame. As a coach, he coached collegiately at Stanford and as a high school coach was honored as Los Angeles Times Coach of the Year twice. Among his many honors, Selleck has received the California State Athletic Director's Distinguished Service Award and was named by the Institute for International Sport (University of Rhode Island) as one of the 100 most influential sports educators. As an author, he has had numerous books published on coaching education and sports parenting. Among his academic accomplishments, Selleck earned a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from Stanford University and a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California.
Steve Spencer
As a player, Steve Spencer earned numerous honors at Sir Francis Drake High school, College of Marin, and Sonoma State University, including Team Captain, MVP, All-League honors, and Defensive Player of the Year. As a coach, he has helped lead a variety of teams from all levels to elite status, including D3 Cal Lutheran to a #1 National ranking in 1993, professional basketball in Australia with the Adelaide 36ers, and as an assistant coach of the UCLA Bruins for five seasons, helped to lead the Bruins to three "Sweet 16" appearances and a Pac-10 championship team that reached the "Elite 8" in the NCAA Tournament. As Head Coach of Orange Coast College, Spencer has led the Pirates to multiple playoff appearances. Spencer is also a highly accomplished camp director and has shared his expertise as the lead clinician at the Lavin, Dunlap, Shot Doctor, and Magic Johnson Camps. Spencer earned his Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance and has published numerous articles on coaching.

THE 2010 DENTON SUMMER SHOOTOUT is a MAYB (Mid America Youth Basketball) regional championship tournament to be held in Denton, Texas area air-conditioned gyms on July 16-18, 2010. Our tournament is proud to be an "EVENT OF EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNER" from MAYB.
The tournament is open to both boys and girls teams, grades 3-12, with a 5 game minimum. The deadline for entry is June 25, 2010. Entry fee is $295 and the tournament is open to all teams. All games are played in state of the art, air-conditioned gyms.
